PINAR DEL RÍO

It was founded in 1699. This province is the most western of Cuba. It is composed of mountain ranges, beautiful valleys and a very fertile land dedicated to the cultivation of tobacco. It also contains numerous caves, rivers and forests. Many of its sites are declared biosphere reserves, such as the Sierra del Rosario ( Rosario mountain range) and the Peninsula de Guanacabibes. It is home to one of the most spectacular scenes in Cuba “ The Vinales Valley” where honeycombed rocky hills rise above fertile green flats of tobacco and royal palms.
