Morro Cabana Fortress and the Canonazo Ceremony


Built in 1589 at the entrance to Havana harbour , this fortress was designed to deter and destroy enemies and pirates and protect the Spanish fleet. Rich in history, it contains galleries with a large display of artefacts. The spectacular lookout offers a fantastic view of the City.
In the evening at 9:00pm, enjoy the historical ceremony “ El Canonazo” ( Old ceremony dated back in the 18 century, where the firing of the cannon advised of the closing down of the harbour doors)
